Idea for Multimedia Kit
Area of Interest: Spanish
Topic: Planeando por las vacaciones (Planning a Vacation)
We have decided that we are going to target a form 3 class and we are going to expose them to 'el mundo hispanico'/ the spanish world. This will be done using a Wiki where students will choose their own travel destination of interest and prepare a portfolio of this destination including information such as:
(1) what documents they need
(2) what form of transport they will use to and from the airport
(3) where they will be staying
(4) length of stay
(5) time of year they will be travelling (summer, winter, spring)
(6) places of interest (tourist sites; national parks, museums, zoos)
With the Wiki the stuents should be able to interact with eachother correcting and commenting on each others travel destination . Microsoft Powerpoint will be used to show the pictures of travel documents and forms of transport using graphics whilst videos will be used to give students an insight into some of the places of interest that they may visit.
Any more suggestions or ideas are welcomed :-)

This is a good idea. However I do need to make two comments:
ReplyDelete1. You should consider getting students to create the wiki in spanish.
2. If tghey must share ideas, impressions, photos and videos, maybe you should consider getting them to use blogs, myspace or facebook.
well the intention is for them to contribute whatever information they deem necessary for vacation, in spanish.
ReplyDeletei think it would be even more interesting and interactive if the students get to use familiar blog sites like those you mentioned, most probably hi5 or facebook since most students are members.
however, it might also be useful if we were to create our own blog.
which do you think we should do. i am stuck between the two ideas.
I agree with you Indira. Lets go along the lines of creating the blog with a theme like "Espanola Nueva" with a tag line "Aprende, Hable y Disfrute el Espanol" (learn, speak and enjoy Spanish)
ReplyDeleteI think we will create a group using facebook since the students should be familiar with it. So they join the group and upload photos, comments etc and interact solely in spanish likewise with the blog which would be done in spanish.
So it goes w/out saying that we would most probbaly use a blog, a wiki and facebook just to get the students interacting using the target language.
